Scientific shortcuts are methods that are conducted without a series of studies nor research. These practices are becoming more common in the medical industry as  medical researchers and/or scientists desperately seek a cure or a solution to address urgent medical concerns, even with the risk of unknown side effects. (i.e., the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic)

The 15 are a group of 15 teenagers ranging from the ages of 15-17. They come from a country where they were severely oppressed and denied a childhood – forced to live in concentration camps and fight in a war against the Legion from the moment they could talk and walk. War and combat is all they’ve been exposed to their entire lives. However, due to this, they are also by far the most capable combatants on the planet, with a single one of them being the equiva.lent of 100 regular soldiers. 

In a struggle against an evil entity known only as “The Legion” that humanity has been locked in war against for decades. In 1 year the Legion will launch an offensive that will likely destroy all of humanity and that humanity cannot possibly defend against. As proposed by humanity’s military experts “Operation Spearhead” is essentially a suicide mission that is humanity’s only chance of survival. It would see the military arming and sending in The 15 deep into enemy territory to destroy the Legion’s key points while they are still vulnerable as they are still building their strength for their coming offensive. This would certainly cost the lives of all of The 15, but is humanity’s most likely chance of survival. The 15 have consented to participating in this operation.

"Ilocano pride” is a more nuanced and specific form of “Pinoy Pride” which focuses on the Ilocano demographic. That is, “Ilocano Pride” refers to the promotion of Ilocano interests by developing, and maintaining an identity based on largely shared characteristics such as language, race, religion, or political goals.

Hybe Corporation (HYBE) is a South Korean multinational entertainment company established in 2005, previously known as Big Hit Entertainment Co. After its rebranding, HYBE is now known as a “mother company” due to their acquiring and establishing of smaller K-Pop agencies such as Pledis Entertainment, Source Music, ADOR, etc. These individual K-pop agencies house the most prominent K-Pop groups in the Fourth Generation (Le SSerafim, New Jeans, ILLIT, and more). HYBE operates as a record label, talent agency, music production company, and event management company for the multiple agencies under it.

In the early 2000s, the Department of Education (DepEd) established the Specialized Education Programs for Public High Schools in the Philippines. These include the Special Science Class (SSC), Special Program in the Arts (SPA), and Special Program in Sports (SPS). These programs are made available for incoming Junior High Students, and major subjects (in relation to their chosen field) were added alongside the recommended DepEd curriculum. Alternatively, DepEd also offered the Basic Education Curriculum (BEC), for students who choose to not specialize in a specific field in Junior High School. The Specialized Education Programs are different from Senior High School Strands (STEM, ABM, HUMSS) that were only added to the curriculum during the introduction of K-12 in 2013.

Decentralized Finance (DeFi) is a technology-driven financial system that operates without traditional intermediaries like brokerages, exchanges, or banks to provide services such as loans, currencies, and investments. Examples of DeFi include using crypto wallets instead of bank accounts, cryptocurrencies in place of government-backed currencies like the USD, and smart contract loans directly between individuals rather than through a bank.
